Jesus Brand Fellowship Prayer

For the Sick

The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up
, James 5:15

By Matthew (Tolu) Olowoyeye

Father, we lift before You today all those who are unwell, those living with pain, those facing serious diagnoses, those who are weary from long illness, and those waiting anxiously for news. You are the God who heals, the One who forgives all our iniquities and heals all our diseases. We come to You in faith on their behalf.

We ask for healing, Lord. We do not pray timidly, because You are able. Touch bodies, restore what is broken, strengthen what is weak, and where healing comes through the hands of doctors, nurses and carers, guide them with skill and compassion. We thank You for medicine and for those who dedicate their lives to caring for others, and we ask You to work through them.

We pray also for comfort in the waiting. For those whose healing is slow, or whose bodies are not yet well, give a peace that steadies the heart and a presence that drives out fear. Remind them that they are not defined by their illness and never for one moment abandoned in it.

And we remember those who care for the sick, the exhausted families, the ones keeping vigil, the carers running on empty. Renew their strength, Lord, and carry what they cannot. Amen.

We agree together for the sick and those who care for them, in the name of Jesus.
