For the Church
They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness
By Matthew (Tolu) Olowoyeye
Father, we pray today for Your Church, not the building, but Your people, Your Body, scattered across this city and around the world. We ask You to revive us. Where we have grown cold, set us on fire again. Where we have grown comfortable, stir us. Where we have drifted into routine, bring us back to a living, breathing love for You.
We pray for unity across Your Church. Tear down the walls we have built between one another, the suspicion, the competition, the pride. Let the world see a Church that loves, that serves, that stands together, so that they might believe. Make us one, Lord, as You and the Father are one.
We ask for holiness. Purify Your Church of hypocrisy and hidden compromise, and let us be a people whose lives match our confession. And we ask for boldness, the same boldness that filled the early believers, so that we speak Your word without fear, share the gospel without shame, and represent You faithfully in every place You have sent us.
Pour out Your Spirit afresh on Your people. Let this generation of the Church be marked not by its buildings or its numbers, but by Your presence and Your power. Amen.
We agree together for Your Church, in the name of Jesus.
