For Our Families and Homes
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord
By Matthew (Tolu) Olowoyeye
Father, we bring our families and our homes before You today. You are the One who sets the lonely in families and who designed the home to be a place of shelter and love. We ask You to be the foundation and the centre of ours. As for us and our households, we choose to serve You.
We pray for love to grow in our homes, patient, kind, forgiving love, the kind that bears with one another and covers a multitude of faults. Where relationships have grown strained, bring healing. Where words have wounded, bring reconciliation. Where distance has crept in between husbands and wives, parents and children, brothers and sisters, draw hearts back together.
We ask for Your protection over every household represented here, over the coming and the going, over the health and safety of each member, over the finances and the future. Guard our homes from the schemes of the enemy and from the quieter dangers of busyness, bitterness and neglect. Let peace rest on our doorposts.
And we pray especially for the homes that are broken, grieving, or in crisis right now, the single parents carrying heavy loads, the families walking through separation, the households where there is fear rather than peace. Meet them, Lord, with Your comfort and Your provision. Rebuild what has been broken. Amen.
We agree together over our families and homes, in the name of Jesus.
