How do I share my faith without pushing people away?
By Matthew (Tolu) Olowoyeye
Scripture1 Peter 3:15
The most powerful evangelism is rarely an argument; it is a life that provokes a question. When your character, peace, and love stand out, people grow curious, and curiosity opens doors that confrontation slams shut. Live so that people ask you about your hope. When you do speak, lead with relationship and listening, not a script. Ask questions, take their objections seriously, and share your own story — what Christ has actually done in your life is something no one can argue away. Speak “with meekness and fear,” as Peter says, not with a need to win. Remember that you are not responsible for the harvest, only for faithful sowing. Plant seeds, water them with prayer, and trust God to give the growth in His timing. Relax — it is His work, and He loves them more than you do. Scripture: — “Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.” Take this step: Pick one person to pray for daily by name. Look for a natural moment to share one honest thing Christ has done for you — your story, not a sermon.
Prayer
Father, thank You for meeting me in my questions. Give me wisdom to understand Your truth, faith to trust You where I cannot yet see, and grace to walk it out today. Anchor my heart in 1 Peter 3:15. In Jesus' name, amen.
