How do I live out my faith at work or school?
By Matthew (Tolu) Olowoyeye
ScriptureColossians 3:23
Start by seeing your work itself as worship. Whether you study, build, sell, nurse, or clean, work done well and honestly “as to the Lord” is genuinely spiritual. Excellence, integrity, and reliability are some of the loudest sermons you will ever preach. Your faith shows less in slogans than in how you treat people and pressure. Be the colleague who tells the truth, keeps their word, refuses gossip, works hard, and stays calm and kind under stress. Over time this earns a credibility that words alone never could. And be ready, without forcing it, for the conversations your character opens. You may not be able to preach at work, but you can serve, listen, and answer honestly when someone asks what makes you different. Scripture: — “Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.” Take this step: Choose one area — honesty, diligence, or kindness — to consciously raise this week as an act of worship, and ask God to use it as a witness.
Prayer
Father, thank You for meeting me in my questions. Give me wisdom to understand Your truth, faith to trust You where I cannot yet see, and grace to walk it out today. Anchor my heart in Colossians 3:23. In Jesus' name, amen.
