Having celebrated the first coming of Christ, we lift our eyes to the second. Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him. The King who came once, quietly, to a manger in an obscure town, seen by only a few shepherds and wise men, will come a second time, openly, in glory, and "every eye will see Him." The first coming was hidden; the second will be unmistakable. The One who arrived in weakness, unnoticed by the world, will return in power that no one can miss.

This is the larger frame in which Christmas sits. The Incarnation was not the end of the story but its turning point; the Child who came to save will come again to reign. And this gives the believer a sure and steadying hope: history is going somewhere, moving toward the open return of the King. We do not know the day or the hour, and we are not meant to spend our energies trying to calculate it; we are meant simply to live ready, watchful, and full of hope, longing for His appearing. The same faithfulness that brought Him the first time guarantees He will come the second.

Live today in the light of His return. The King who came is coming again, let that sure hope steady you, and keep you watchful and ready for the day every eye will see Him.

Let the certainty of Christ's return shape today. Without speculating about times and dates, live "ready", watchful, hopeful, and faithful, as one who knows the King will come again openly, and longs for the day every eye will see Him.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You who came once to a manger are coming again with clouds, when every eye will see You. Thank You that history is moving toward Your open return. Keep me watchful, ready, and full of hope, living today in the light of the day I shall see You. Amen.
