Healing in His Wings

Malachi gives the coming Christ another radiant title: the Sun of Righteousness, rising "with healing in His wings." As the sun breaks over a cold, dark world and brings warmth, light, and life, so the Messiah would rise upon His people, and His rays would carry healing. The image is of dawn after a long, frozen night, the first warm light spreading across the land, and with it, restoration for all who have been wounded and worn by the dark.

This is a word for everyone who comes to Christmas carrying wounds. For many, this season is not simple gladness; it stirs grief, loss, loneliness, and ache. To such hearts Malachi's promise speaks directly: the One who comes is the Sun of Righteousness, and He rises with healing in His wings. He does not come merely to be admired in a manger scene; He comes to heal, to bring warmth to the cold, light to the dark, restoration to the broken. His coming is good news precisely for the hurting, for it is the wounded who most need the healing His rising brings.
