2 Corinthians 1:20
For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

Paul gives us the key that unlocks every promise in Scripture: all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen. However many promises God has made, and they are countless, they do not hang in the air as vague possibilities. In Christ, they are all "Yes", confirmed, guaranteed, secured. And they are "Amen", so be it, settled, certain. The reliability of every promise rests not on our worthiness to receive it but on Christ, in whom they are all sealed.
This is why the believer can approach God's promises with confidence rather than anxiety. We do not wonder whether God is in the mood to keep His word today, or whether we have earned His follow-through. Because the promises are "Yes in Christ," their fulfilment is as sure as Christ Himself. He is the guarantee. Every promise of provision, presence, help, and hope finds its unbreakable "Yes" in Him. And our part is the "Amen", to add our believing agreement, to say with confidence, "so be it," and rest on what God has guaranteed.
When you take hold of a promise today, remember it is "Yes" in Christ. Answer it with your "Amen."
Take Into The Day
Take one promise of God that you need today and respond to it with both halves of this verse: receive that it is "Yes" in Christ, guaranteed, and add your "Amen," your believing agreement. Rest on what He has secured.
Prayer
Father, all Your promises are Yes and Amen in Christ, confirmed, guaranteed, certain in Him. Thank You that their fulfilment rests on Your Son, not on my worthiness. To every promise I take hold of today, I add my Amen. Be glorified as I trust Your Word. Amen.
