Here is a phrase to rest your whole weight upon: "He made us accepted in the Beloved." The deepest human craving is to be accepted, truly known and still wanted, not on probation, not earning our place, but received. And Paul says that in Christ, "the Beloved," this craving is answered absolutely. We are accepted, not tolerated, not conditionally approved, but welcomed into God's favour, "to the praise of the glory of His grace."
The two crucial words are "in the Beloved." Our acceptance is not based on how acceptable we are, which fluctuates daily with our performance and mood, but on how beloved Christ is, which never changes. We are accepted in Him. When the Father looks at the believer, He sees us joined to His beloved Son, and the love and acceptance He has for Christ overflows to cover us. This is why our acceptance is unshakeable: it would take Christ becoming unacceptable to the Father for us to become unacceptable in Him, and that will never happen.
You do not have to perform today to earn your acceptance with God. In the Beloved, you are already, fully, accepted. Rest there.

Prayer
Father, by Your grace You have made me accepted in the Beloved, welcomed fully, not on probation. Thank You that my acceptance rests on how beloved Christ is, not on how acceptable I am. Let me stop auditioning, and rest today in Your acceptance. Amen.
