Paul keeps climbing. Not only were we made alive with Christ; God "raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus." Because we are united to Christ, what is true of Him is reckoned true of us. He was raised, and we were raised with Him. He is seated in the place of authority at God's right hand, and, astonishingly, we are seated there too, "in Christ Jesus." Our position is bound up with His.
This is identity at its most exalted, and it changes how we face the day. To be "seated" in the heavenly places speaks of rest and of authority, the work is finished, the victory is won, and we share in Christ's triumph over every power. We do not fight for victory as anxious underdogs; we live from a victory already secured, seated with the risen Christ above every principality and power. The struggles of earth are real, but they are fought from a position of settled triumph in Christ, not toward an uncertain one.
Whatever you face today, you do not face it from below, scrambling for a foothold. In Christ, you face it from above, seated with Him.
Take Into The Day
Face today's pressures not as one scrambling from below but as one seated with Christ above them. When a struggle looms, remember your position in Him, the victory is already secured. Live from triumph, not toward it.
Prayer
Father, in Christ You have raised me up and seated me with Him in the heavenly places, above every power. Help me face today not as an anxious underdog but from the settled victory of Christ. Let me live from His triumph, secure in my place in Him. Amen.
