Ephesians 1:7
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

Notice the tense Paul uses: "we have redemption… the forgiveness of sins." Not we hope to have it one day, not we might receive it if we do enough, we have it, now, as a present and settled possession of everyone in Christ. Forgiveness is not a prize dangled in front of us to be won by future good behaviour; it is a gift already given, purchased "through His blood," and held securely by all who belong to Him.
And see the measure of it: "according to the riches of His grace." God does not forgive grudgingly or by the teaspoon, calculating whether we deserve another chance. He forgives lavishly, out of riches, a grace so abundant that no sin we bring is too great for it, and no number of failures can exhaust it. Many believers live as forgiven people who do not feel forgiven, still carrying guilt Christ has already carried away. But your feelings do not set the fact. In Him, your sins are forgiven, fully, freely, finally.
Stop paying for what Christ has already paid. Receive the forgiveness you already have, and walk free.
Take Into The Day
Name a guilt you have been carrying that Christ has already paid for. Today, refuse to keep paying for it. Receive your forgiveness as a present fact, "I have forgiveness in Him", and set the burden down.
Prayer
Father, in Christ I have redemption and the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of Your grace. Thank You that it is not a prize to win but a gift already given. Help me to stop carrying what Christ has carried away, and to walk free as a forgiven child. Amen.
