Matthew 25:21
…Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.

Jesus tells of a master who returns to settle accounts with his servants, and to the one who used what he was given, the master speaks the words every faithful heart longs to hear: Well done, good and faithful servant. Notice what is commended. Not "brilliant servant," not "successful servant," not "gifted servant", but faithful servant. The master is not measuring spectacular results; he is measuring faithfulness with what was entrusted.
This sets our eyes on the right horizon. We live now in the time of the master's absence, entrusted with "a few things", our gifts, our responsibilities, our portion of time and influence. The temptation is to bury what we have been given, or to despise it as too small to matter. But a day of accounting is coming, and on that day the question will not be how much we were given or how impressive we appeared, but whether we were faithful with our portion. And the reward is staggering: increased trust, and "the joy of your lord."
Live today with that "Well done" in view. Be faithful with your few things, and one day you will hear it.
Take Into The Day
Live today with the master's "Well done" in view. Take whatever has been entrusted to you, your work, your gifts, your responsibilities, and steward it faithfully today, as one who will give an account and longs to hear those words.
Prayer
Lord, more than success or applause, I long to hear You say, "Well done, good and faithful servant." Help me be faithful today with the few things You have entrusted to me, stewarding them well, and looking forward to entering the joy of my Lord. Amen.
