Galatians 6:9
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Paul acknowledges something honest about goodness: it can make you tired. Let us not grow weary while doing good. Doing good is not always met with thanks or visible results; sometimes it goes unnoticed, unappreciated, even taken advantage of. The temptation, after a while, is to grow weary, to think, "What is the point? Nobody notices, nothing changes, why keep bothering?" Paul writes precisely for that moment of fatigue.
And his encouragement is an agricultural promise that fits this month perfectly: "in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart." Doing good is like sowing seed. The reaping does not come the same afternoon as the sowing; there is a "due season," a harvest time set by God, that comes later. The good you do that seems to vanish without trace is not wasted; it is sown, and a harvest is coming. The one condition is perseverance: "if we do not lose heart." Many give up just before the season turns.
So do the next good thing, even tired, even unthanked. The harvest is coming. Do not lose heart.
Take Into The Day
Keep doing the good that feels unnoticed or unrewarded today. Refuse the weariness that says "what's the point." Remember you are sowing for a harvest in due season, and do the next good thing anyway.
Prayer
Lord, when doing good goes unnoticed and I grow weary, remind me that I am sowing for a harvest in due season. Keep me from losing heart. Give me strength to do the next good thing, trusting You to bring the reaping in Your time. Amen.
