This verse from delivers a startling and profound truth about believers: we are 'God's temple.' In the Old Testament, the temple was a sacred, distinct dwelling place for God's presence. Now, through Christ, this sacred dwelling has been radically re-situated within His followers. The Holy Spirit, the very Spirit of God, makes His home in each believer. This truth elevates our understanding of ourselves, not as mere individuals, but as sacred spaces permeated by divine presence. It carries implications for how we live, how we treat ourselves, and how we interact with others, recognizing the holy tenant within. It calls us to live lives that reflect this indwelling glory, honoring God.

Prayer

Holy Spirit, thank You for dwelling within me, making me Your temple. Help me to live in a way that honors Your presence, cultivating holiness and radiating Your light to the world.
