Out of the depths of lament and national despair, the prophet Jeremiah utters these profound words of hope. Even when circumstances are bleak, the 'steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,' and 'his mercies never come to an end.' This isn't wishful thinking, but a declaration grounded in God's unchanging character. Each new day brings a fresh outpouring of His compassion, 'they are new every morning.' This truth means that no matter how difficult yesterday was, or how uncertain tomorrow seems, we can confidently look to God's unfailing goodness today. His faithfulness is not just a concept, but an active, renewed demonstration of His commitment to His people, giving us courage to face whatever comes.

Prayer

Faithful God, we praise You for Your mercies that are new every morning. Help us to find fresh hope and strength in Your enduring love today. Amen.
