Matthew 11:28-29
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Jesus' invitation in is a balm to weary souls. He doesn't call us to strive harder or earn our peace, but simply to 'come' to Him, bringing our burdens, our exhaustion, and our heavy hearts. His promise is not just physical respite, but 'rest for your souls.' This rest isn't passive idleness; it's a deep, inner peace found in aligning ourselves with Him. He reveals His character as 'gentle and lowly in heart,' contrasting sharply with the harsh demands of the world. Taking His 'yoke' means learning from Him, partnering with Him in His work, finding that His way is lighter, more liberating, and ultimately sustainable, because He bears the greatest weight.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, we come to You with our burdens. Grant us Your promised rest for our souls as we learn from Your gentle and lowly heart. Amen.
