Matthew (Tolu) Olowoyeye

Philippians 2:3-4
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Today's verses from Philippians offer a profound counter-cultural challenge. In a world that often prioritizes self-advancement and personal gain, Paul calls us to a posture of genuine humility and an outward-looking perspective. This isn't about self-deprecation, but a Christ-like understanding of our value, which then frees us to deeply esteem and care for others. When we intentionally consider the needs and well-being of those around us, we reflect the very heart of Jesus, who 'did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.' (). This humble service isn't a burden, but a pathway to true joy and deep connection, transforming both our lives and the lives of those we touch.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, softie our hearts to embrace true humility. Help us to genuinely consider others more significant, looking beyond our own desires to serve as Christ served. Amen.
