1 Peter 2:24
"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed."

This verse powerfully describes the substitutionary atonement of Christ. Jesus, without sin Himself, willingly took the full weight of our transgressions upon the cross. His body became the vessel for our judgment, so that we, through faith, could be freed from sin's dominion and empowered to live righteously. The profound phrase 'by his wounds you have been healed' encompasses not only spiritual reconciliation but also a holistic healing from the brokenness that sin inflicts. It underscores a complete transformation made possible by His ultimate sacrifice, offering us new life and restoration.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for bearing our sins on the tree and for the complete healing and new life we find in Your sacrifice. Help us to die to sin daily and live for Your righteousness. Amen.
