Paul, writing from prison, commands us to 'rejoice in the Lord always.' This isn't a call to superficial happiness or denial of hardship, but a deep-seated joy rooted in our relationship with Christ. It's a joy that transcends circumstance, because its source is immutable. Regardless of what life throws our way, our position in Christ, His perfect love, and His promised return remain constant. This rejoicing shifts our focus from fluctuating earthly conditions to the enduring reality of God’s sovereignty and grace. It is a choice to anchor our hearts in His faithfulness, finding strength and peace even in turbulent times. This command empowers us to cultivate an internal wellspring of gladness.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I choose to rejoice in you today, knowing that my joy is rooted in your unchanging character. Help me to find strength and peace in your presence, no matter my circumstances.
