Jesus' words here are not about general philosophy, but about a specific, liberating truth: Himself. He earlier declared, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life.' The freedom He speaks of is not freedom to do as one pleases, but freedom from the bondage of sin and spiritual ignorance. To 'know the truth' is to enter into a relationship with Christ, whose life, death, and resurrection reveal God's redemptive plan. This knowing transforms us, changing our perspective, our motivations, and our eternal trajectory. It's a freedom that brings peace, purpose, and genuine spiritual liberation, inviting us to live in alignment with divine reality.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You are the Truth. Open my eyes and heart to know You more deeply, that I may experience the liberating freedom You offer from sin and darkness.
