Paul's command to 'carry each other's burdens' is a practical outworking of Christ's love among believers. It's not about taking over someone's responsibilities, but about offering support, empathy, and practical help when life becomes heavy. Whether it's emotional distress, financial hardship, or spiritual struggle, the call is to step into another's difficulty, sharing the weight. He equates this act of communal compassion with 'the law of Christ,' which is ultimately the law of love. This verse challenges our individualism and calls us to a selfless, community-oriented faith where mutual care is a defining characteristic.
Prayer
Lord, open our eyes to the burdens others carry, and give us willing hearts and hands to share their load with the love of Christ. Amen.
