just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

Jesus's statement powerfully redefines leadership and greatness. He, the Son of Man, God incarnate, did not come to be served, despite His rightful claim to ultimate authority. Instead, His mission was profoundly marked by serving others, culminating in the ultimate act of self-giving: laying down His life as a 'ransom.' This establishes the pattern for all His followers. Our calling is not to seek positions of power or privilege, but to emulate His humble, servant-hearted example. True greatness in God's kingdom is measured by how we serve, how we sacrifice for the good of others, reflecting the very heart of our Savior.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, forgive us when we seek to be served rather than to serve. Instill in us a spirit of true humility, that we may follow Your perfect example of sacrificial service to others and to You.
