April 10 brings us to the very heart of Christian discipleship, as articulated by Jesus Himself. He introduces a 'new command,' yet it's as ancient as God's character: 'Love one another.' The standard for this love is profoundly high: 'As I have loved you.' This is a self-sacrificial, humble, and steadfast love, not contingent on the other's merit. This reciprocal, Christ-like love among believers isn't merely an ideal; it's the defining mark, the observable sign, by which 'everyone will know that you are my disciples.' In a world often fractured by division, this command calls us to demonstrate a compelling unity and grace that points directly to Him. It's a daily, active commitment to care for and prioritize others within the family of God.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for Your profound love for me. Help me today to love others with the same selfless, grace-filled love You have shown, so that Your light may shine through our unity.
