This proverb offers both a humbling truth and profound reassurance. We, as humans, are constant planners, often meticulously crafting our lives and futures. Yet, this verse reminds us that our designs, however well-intentioned or elaborate, are ultimately subordinate to God's sovereign 'purpose.' This isn't a call to passivity, but to humility and trust. It reminds us that even when our plans fall apart, or life takes an unexpected turn, God's overarching perfect will remains unshaken. His purposes are eternal, wise, and ultimately for our good and His glory. Resting in this truth allows us to release control and commit our ways to Him, knowing His plan will always prevail.

Prayer

Father, I surrender my plans and desires to your sovereign will. Help me to trust that your purposes will stand, and guide my steps in alignment with your perfect and unchanging plan for my life.
