The psalmist calls us to a posture of gratitude, not just for God's goodness in general, but specifically for his 'steadfast love.' This Hebrew word, 'hesed,' speaks to a loyal, unfailing, covenantal kindness that God extends to his people. It's a love that perseveres through our failings, remains constant in our instability, and is unwavering in its commitment. In a world where relationships often falter and circumstances shift, reflecting on God's enduring hesed provides an anchor for our souls. It’s a love that isn't earned but freely given, forming the bedrock of our hope and the foundation for our praise, reminding us that his faithfulness is our constant companion.

Prayer

Lord, thank you for your steadfast love that never wavers, a constant in every season of life. Open my eyes to see and appreciate your unwavering kindness in all circumstances, and help me to extend such love to others.
