James 1:4
And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

James encourages us to embrace, rather than resist, the trials and challenges we face, viewing them as opportunities for growth. The 'steadfastness' (or patience/endurance) that develops in adversity is not merely passive waiting, but active perseverance with a joyful outlook, knowing God is at work. The goal is not just to survive the trial, but to allow the process to 'have its full effect,' leading to a deeper maturity and completeness in Christ. This perfection isn't about flawless behavior, but about spiritual wholeness, becoming more like Him and discovering we lack nothing essential in our spiritual journey.
Prayer
Father, when trials come, help me to allow steadfastness to have its full effect. Grow me through these moments, that I may be perfect and complete in Christ.
