Jesus' tender analogy of the shepherd and his sheep beautifully illustrates our relationship with Him. He asserts that His sheep 'hear His voice', a capacity rooted in an intimate, personal connection. This isn't just about auditory perception, but spiritual recognition and discernment. Because He knows His sheep, He leads them, and in turn, they follow. This implies a relationship of trust and obedience. To hear His voice means cultivating a spirit of attentiveness to His Word, His Spirit, and the unique ways He communicates with each of us, enabling us to walk in His chosen path.

Prayer

Good Shepherd, open my ears and my heart to hear Your voice today. Guide me, and help me to follow You faithfully in all that I do.
