Matthew 5:17
Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

Jesus' profound declaration here clarifies His role not as a destroyer of God's ancient word, but as its ultimate completion and perfect expression. He didn't come to discard the moral demands and spiritual insights of the Old Testament, but to embody and elevate them, revealing their true intent and bringing them to their intended climax. His life, death, and resurrection perfectly fulfilled every shadow, prophecy, and ethical requirement. This means His followers are called not to a lesser standard, but to a deeper understanding, living out the spirit of the Law through the indwelling Holy Spirit, guided by His perfect example.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for fulfilling all righteousness. Help me to understand Your Word more deeply and to live in a way that honors Your perfect example.
