A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.

Just hours before His crucifixion, Jesus gave His disciples a 'new commandment' that would define their community: to love one another. This wasn't merely a suggestion; it was an imperative, and it came with a profound model: 'just as I have loved you.' Christ's love was sacrificial, inclusive, patient, and full of grace. He loved us even when we were unlovable. Our love for fellow believers is meant to be a reflection of that divine love, serving as a visible witness to the world of who He is. This commandment challenges us to move beyond superficial pleasantries to genuine, Christ-like affection and service.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, You loved me with an ultimate, sacrificial love. Empower me by Your Spirit to genuinely love others today, reflecting Your grace and compassion to those around me.
