Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

These verses illuminate the very heart of the Gospel. Our salvation is 'by grace,' meaning it's an unearned, underserved favor from God. It's received 'through faith,' a simple trust in Jesus Christ, not through our own efforts or religious performance. Paul emphasizes that salvation is 'not your own doing,' nor 'a result of works,' leaving no room for human boasting. This truth liberates us from the burden of trying to earn God's favor and reminds us that our standing before Him is entirely due to His perfect love and the sacrifice of His Son. It calls for humility, gratitude, and a life lived in response to such a profound gift.
Prayer
Gracious God, I thank You that my salvation is a gift, received by grace through faith, and not by my own merit. Help me to live today in humble gratitude for Your incredible love.
