In a world that often celebrates quick results and visible success, offers a countercultural invitation: 'Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.' This 'stillness' is not idleness but an active posture of trust, a deliberate calming of our spirits in God's presence. It calls us to resist the urge to 'fret' or be consumed by anxiety when others, particularly those who disregard God, seem to prosper. Our trust is to be placed in God's timing and justice, not in comparing ourselves to others. True rest comes from releasing our anxieties into His hands and allowing Him to work on our behalf.
Prayer
Sovereign Lord, I confess my tendency to fret and compare myself to others. Help me to truly be still before You, to wait patiently for Your timing, and to rest in Your perfect wisdom and justice.
