These verses from Lamentations break through deep despair with a powerful declaration of hope. Even in the midst of suffering and ruin, the prophet Jeremiah identifies an unwavering truth: God's steadfast love and compassions. They are not depleted by our failures or by the world's darkness; instead, they are 'new every morning.' This daily renewal of mercy is a testament to God's 'great faithfulness.' Each sunrise is an invitation to receive fresh grace, to confess yesterday's shortcomings, and to step into the new day confident in His unfailing character. We are not consumed because His love holds us fast.

Prayer

Faithful Father, thank You that Your mercies are new for me this morning. Clothe me in Your compassion, and by Your great faithfulness, empower me to walk in Your ways today.
