Peter opens his letter with a doxology, praising God for the profound reality of a 'living hope.' This hope is not a wishful thought, but a firm assurance, directly tied to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Because Christ conquered death, our hope for future glory and eternal life is vibrant, active, and absolutely certain. This 'new birth' through God's great mercy means we are not living in despair or uncertainty, but with an anticipation of what is to come. It changes how we view our present struggles, knowing that they are temporary and held within the larger narrative of God's redemptive plan. Our hope is anchored in a resurrected Savior, making it undeniably 'living.'

Blessed is Your name, God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! Thank You for Your great mercy that has given me a living hope through Christ’s resurrection. May this hope uplift and sustain me today.
