Paul urges believers to 'put on' spiritual virtues, much like clothing. As God’s 'chosen ones, holy and beloved,' we are called to embody qualities that reflect His own character. A 'compassionate heart' is listed first, suggesting it's fundamental. This isn't mere sentimentality but an active empathy that moves us to care and act for others. Coupled with kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, these virtues transform our interactions and witness in the world. They are not merely suggestions but invitations to live out our new identity in Christ, allowing His Spirit to cultivate these graces within us. It’s a daily spiritual dressing, consciously choosing to adorn ourselves with godly attributes.

Prayer

Holy God, thank You for choosing me and loving me. Clothe my heart today with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, that my life may reflect Your beautiful character to those around me.
