Humility is often misunderstood as self-deprecation, but biblically, it's an accurate assessment of ourselves in relation to God. It means acknowledging His sovereignty, His wisdom, and our dependence on Him. When we humble ourselves, we're not diminishing our worth, but rightly esteeming God above all. This posture of submission and trust opens the door for God to work profoundly in our lives. He doesn't exalt the proud, who rely on their own strength, but lifts up those who recognize their need for Him. This exalting isn't necessarily earthly fame or fortune, but a deepening of His presence, purpose, and peace in our lives.
Prayer
Almighty God, I humble myself before You today, acknowledging Your greatness and my dependence. Lift me up in Your time and according to Your perfect will.
