Programme syllabus

  1. Week 1: AI, Ministry and the Future of Leadership

    1 Chronicles 12:32 — the men of Issachar understood the times and knew what Israel should do.

    • Explain what AI is, and is not, in plain ministry language.
    • Distinguish assistance from anointing — and hold the line between them.
    • Identify where ministry work is slowed by avoidable, repetitive friction.
    • Write a personal AI use boundary statement you can stand behind.

    Assignment: Write a 250-word AI ministry philosophy: what you will use AI for, what you will never use it for, and how you will stay accountable.

  2. Week 2: Tool Stack for Pastors and Ministry Teams

    Proverbs 24:3–4 — by wisdom a house is built, by understanding it is established, by knowledge its rooms are filled.

    • Match the right tool to the right task instead of chasing every new app.
    • Set up a basic, uncluttered ministry AI workspace.
    • Understand projects, file use, deep research and design tools at a working level.
    • Avoid tool overwhelm with a deliberately small starter stack.

    Assignment: Create a one-page tool policy: which tools are approved, who may use them, what data must never be uploaded, and who reviews outputs.

  3. Week 3: Prompt Engineering for Ministry: The SHEPHERD Method

    Habakkuk 2:2 — write the vision and make it plain.

    • Write prompts that are clear, constrained and pastoral.
    • Apply the SHEPHERD method to any ministry task.
    • Chain prompts across research, drafting, review and refinement.
    • Instruct AI in ways that prevent invented facts and unsupported claims.

    Assignment: Submit three SHEPHERD prompts: one for a sermon research brief, one for a Bible study, and one for a church communication.

  4. Week 4: Bible Study and Sermon Research Lab

    2 Timothy 2:15 — rightly handling the word of truth.

    • Use AI to organise research without outsourcing conviction.
    • Build reusable sermon research files.
    • Identify context, theme, tension, doctrine and application in a text.
    • Guard against eisegesis and AI-manufactured 'insight'.

  5. Week 5: Teaching, Discipleship and the Curriculum Factory

    Matthew 28:19–20 — teaching them to obey everything Christ commanded.

    • Turn one teaching into a whole discipleship ecosystem.
    • Create age-appropriate versions of the same truth.
    • Build devotionals, small-group studies, membership classes and teen lessons.
    • Improve clarity without diluting Scripture.

  6. Week 6: The Digital Content Ministry Engine

    Psalm 96:3 — declare His glory among the nations.

    • Create a repeatable content pipeline instead of random posting.
    • Repurpose sermons into platform-specific assets.
    • Write hooks that serve and invite rather than manipulate.
    • Plan a 30-day content calendar you can actually sustain.

  7. Week 7: Church Communications and Member Engagement

    Colossians 4:6 — let your speech be gracious, seasoned with salt.

    • Write warmer, clearer church communication.
    • Create visitor and member follow-up systems.
    • Prepare announcements, newsletters, FAQs and pastoral letters.
    • Reduce confusion and drive clear action.

  8. Week 8: Leadership, Administration and Strategy

    Exodus 18:17–23 — Jethro's counsel: wise systems protect both leaders and people.

    • Use AI for meeting preparation, agendas and minutes.
    • Create ministry role descriptions and onboarding tools.
    • Develop a simple ministry planning dashboard.
    • Make better decisions through structured thinking.

  9. Week 9: Pastoral Care, Safeguarding and Privacy Guardrails

    Proverbs 11:13 — a trustworthy person keeps a confidence.

    • Know exactly what confidential information must never be uploaded.
    • Use AI for general preparation, never for private counselling disclosure.
    • Create privacy-aware pastoral prompts.
    • Draft a simple, workable church AI use policy.

  10. Week 10: Theology, Ethics, Truth and Discernment

    1 Thessalonians 5:21 — test everything; hold fast what is good.

    • Detect hallucinations, false references and theological blending.
    • Apply the five tests of AI ministry.
    • Build durable verification habits.
    • Use AI with integrity and genuine accountability.

Is the AI Ministry Accelerator free?
Yes. The programme is free and self-paced. Create a free account to save your progress across devices and to receive your certificate on completion.
Do I need technical skills or coding experience?
No. It is beginner-friendly. Every unit teaches in plain ministry language, with worked examples and prompts you can copy straight into any AI assistant.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes. Complete every unit and quiz and The Berean Bible Academy issues a shareable certificate in your name, with your completion date and a credential reference.
How long does it take?
Around 12 to 15 learning hours in total. It is self-paced, so most leaders work through one unit a week alongside ministry.
Does this replace Scripture, prayer or pastoral care?
Never. Scripture is the final authority throughout. AI is treated only as an assistant that removes friction, so leaders can give more of themselves to people, prayer, preaching and mission.
